Escape from Tarkov PvE mode
Table of contents
PvE Zone is the official name of the mode. The expansion page describes it as co-op PvE with persistent progression: you can play solo or with friends, and progress is not reset by wipes.
How it differs from the regular game
- The character is separate: PvE and PvP progress do not mix.
- Instead of other player PMCs in raid there are bots; functionally the mode mirrors PvP.
- Raids run locally or on servers; on some maps and when playing in a group — only on servers.
- You can reset your own progress yourself: the profile has a personal wipe for PvE, PvP or both modes.
- Since patch 1.2.0.0 PvE has its own 6-level Prestige: it resets progress in PvE only and keeps up to half of your skills and weapon mastery.
How to get access
- PvE is included in The Unheard edition and in the discontinued Edge of Darkness.
- Owners of other editions can buy the mode separately: “PvE Upgrade” on the website and “PVE Zone” in Steam. The base game is required.
- There is a PVE Zone bundle together with EfT: Arena.
A PvE purchase is kept forever, like other expansions.
What is not yet officially confirmed
Group size specifically for PvE and how the Flea Market works in this mode are not described separately in official sources. The wiki says the mode functionally mirrors PvP.

How the radar helps
- Quests in PvE are the same: objectives and zones are marked on the radar map.
- Bots, bosses and guards are visible on the map right after spawn.
The radar map opens from a link in any browser: on a phone, tablet, laptop or second monitor. You can also share it with friends from your squad.
