Arena is a separate Battlestate Games project: a session-based team shooter built on Escape from Tarkov mechanics. The official FAQ calls it a separate game that can be bought without the main game.
Modes
The official Arena website lists the modes BlastGang, Checkpoint, TeamFight, Last Hero, Duel, Overrun and Shootout. For example, BlastGang is a 5v5 match: attackers plant a device, defenders try to stop them.
Connection to the main game
- The official slogan is “two games, one character”: level, skills and weapon mastery grow in both Arena and the main game.
- In Arena matches themselves, according to the wiki, everyone's skills are the same — the leveling advantage does not carry into the fight.
- Items and currency can be transferred through the trader Ref after completing his quests.
- A seasonal character in the main game has access to partial synchronization with Arena.
How to get it
Arena is sold separately in three editions. A copy of Arena Ryzhy Edition is included in the main game's The Unheard and Edge of Darkness editions.
